Sue Kettles story "Rattlesnake & Bear" chosen to be published by PCT Publication.

"Rattlesnake and Bear was selected from the stories posted on stories and photos from the PCT."

By the time Papa Bear and I made it to Joshua Tree Spring, wewere incredibly hot, insatiably thirsty and super tired. So we found abit of wonderful shade and took a short, sweet nap. It was August 2008, and we had started at Walker Pass and planned to leave the trail at Kearsarge Pass. Drew “Papa Bear” Hendel and I had met a few years earlier in Southern California while section hiking from Cajon Pass to Agua Dulce. Like me, he was also trying to complete the PCT in sections. He lives in Seattle, and I see him every year at Kick Off. We knew this High Sierra route would be pretty dry this late in the summer. So we got dropped off after dark and hiked by the magical moonlight. After maybe four miles or so, we set up a dry camp. The next day, we got an early start in an attempt to beat the heat and make Joshua Tree Spring, the first water in that section. When I woke up from my nap, I meandered a few yards ..

New Look for Website & Facebook

Branding is the term used when you establish your own look. John our friend, website, Facebook, social networking, evangelizing, marketing and all-around staff member has been searching for our "Look” and has finally come up with our “Brand” a look we are happy with. We plan to utilize the new logo in future gifts such as T shirts and other collateral items making them all available on this website as well as "Leaving” pieces for our groups, future conferences and other locations where Al is speaking.

Our Next Step Ministries Brand or Logo shares some of the older look but adds a more youthful appearance. Our two Next Step Men will be lending a hand in White, Blue and Black colors in a sharper image and more creative font. The new look has already been added to the website as well as our Facebook page and soon to Al’s LinkedIn page. The “Every Man has A Next Step” slogan or rather central focus of the DNA in Al’s ministry will be a more dominant association to the actual name of our ministry. Every Man Has A Next Step will be an internet domain very soon and forward to www.nextstepministry.net. The plethora of other organizations and ministries using similar names kept us from securing a more familiar Non-Profit domain earlier where the typical Dot Org is utilized. The presence of similar names across the internet along with the confusion to some on are we Ministries, Ministry, Dot Com, Net or an Org often landed folks looking for us on other sites. Those issues motivated us to execute this subtle change.

Please look for www.everymanhasanextstep.org to land you on Next Step Ministries.
